RATIONALE AND PURPOSE FOR THIS ORDER:

The purpose of this order is to authorize district judges to take guilty pleas in criminal cases cognizable in the circuit court.

IT IS ORDERED

Upon an appropriate assignment by the State Court Administrative Office, the assigned judges of 12th District Court may accept pleas in criminal cases cognizable in the circuit court according to the following requirements:

1 . Any motion filed pursuant to MCR 6.310 for withdrawal or vacation of the plea before sentence will be heard and decided by the circuit court judge.

2.    The 12th District Court and 4th Circuit Court will cooperate with the State Court Administrative Office in the assessment of this program.
